Arriving by plane
The easiest way to reach the city from the Belgrade airport "Nikola Tesla" is by one of the A1 buses, which depart from the airport on every full hour. A ticket costs 400 RSD (cash only, in the bus). Exit the bus on its last station on Slavija Square, and then the trolleybuses 19, 21, 22, 22L and 29 will take you to the city centre. But it is possible that your hotel is within <10 min on foot.
For public transport around Belgrade the best option is to take a BusPlus card (250 RSD + credit for rides). The price for a 90-minute ticket (which you have to validate when you enter the bus/tram/trolleybus) is 89 RSD.
For all information regarding taxi services, please contact the city service TAXI INFO, located in the baggage claim area and please do not forget to take the receipt at the airport Info Desk specifying the desired destination and the price for the taxi service. A taxi should not cost more than 3000 RSD to the city centre. It is better to have cash with you.
Arriving by car & parking
You can reach Belgrade by using highways E70 (Zagreb, Belgrade, Timisoara, Bucharest) and E75 (Athens, Thessaloniki, Nis, Belgrade, Budapest).
Parking can be tricky in Belgrade because of a lack of parking spaces. The city centre is divided into three parking zones where a modest p
arking fee must be paid. Outside these zones, on-street parking is free of charge.
The three parking zones in the centre of Belgrade are: the green zone, where you can leave your car for up to three hours; the yellow zone, where you can leave your car for up to two hours; and the red zone, where you can leave your car for only one hour. You will be required to pay for each hour. Watch out for coloured parking signs to see which zone you are in and whether you must pay or not.
The easiest way to pay for parking is by sending a text-message from your cell phone to the following numbers: 9113 for the green zone, 9112 for the yellow zone and 9111 for the red zone. The message should contain your licence plate - without the spaces, hyphens and other special characters. For example, if the registration code is "BG-123-456" you would type "BG123456" (and nothing else) in the message. The parking service will confirm the reception of your message, and also warn you before the time is up, so you can pay for another hour (by sending a new message) if you wish.
